Program Support Partnership Model

Definition:     Industry partner provides support/resources for program sustainability or enhancement. 
​
Examples:    Financial contributions; donations of equipment, supplies; facilities support; marketing or recruitment assistance; representing program.

Implementation Strategies

  • Communicate program needs and calls for support to industry
  • Invite industry to classrooms/labs to increase awareness of program, needs
  • Host/attend industry events to cultivate program awareness, support
  • Solicit industry input/advice to inform program support requests
  • Hire an industry-centric program manager to build/sustain industry relationships
  • Solicit assistance from alums when seeking donations, support

Program Support Case Study


​​Richmond Community College worked with industry to secure over $1million in donated equipment to create a testing substation on their campus and to launch an extremely successful electrical utility workforce program. The school continues to enjoy frequent donations and full support from industry.
